Recently, I just found out that I was in the end of December which means that in the end of the year. Honestly, this year, I'm not really excited for the new year's eve. I just think that, what's the difference with others? Not much change for me. I don't know since new year celebration is the middle of my final exam, so I don't have much time to think about, but final papers then of course study. But, now I realize that new year isn't something that crucial to celebrate. I don't against people who celebrate it, but personally new year isn't something that significant effect for my life.
I grow up in my multicultural country and also I've moved many times before I settle in my small town now. I met many people with different cultures, different perspectives, different habits, an so on and so far. Most of them, even they different they claim that new year is something we need to celebrate, especially for medias (you can see, every TV station has their own programs for welcoming new year), so by construct I think it's important.
Then, back to my idea again that new year is a new year. Well, like most of people somehow I make the resolutions for new year (you can read my long time ago post). But, now, I feel like "Why we have to create resolutions in new year? Why don't we make it as soon as possible?". Yeah, if we know we have mistakes, why do we wait for new year to change? Those questions are turning in my head.
Then, somehow I think how about Julius Caesar changes the day of 1st of January? How about 1st of January happen in 3 days ahead or maybe a week before? Will people celebrate new year today?
