At The End, You Decide!

Hello good people!
After I finished my internship, I am back to rearrange my things in campus again :). But, yeah, that's life, you will miss your daily routine, right?

Since my uni years will be ending soon, I have deep thinking about my past, my future, and everything-in-between. This is really important to  make sure what would I be after my roller coaster college life.

Back to my freshman year where I decide to be active in uni. At the very first beginning, I decided what organization and what division I should go. Yeah, I believe good preparation meets opportunity is a luck! Believe it or not, I was accepted in those two organization with my first priority division.

My parents actually regret my decision saying that it made me late to graduate. But, I proved them that I can keep my GPA and make it balance with my non-academic life. Even almost everyday they complained about my late-night go home habit, but at the end they supported me.

But, since I made balance of my academic and non-academic stuff, I had to sacrifice my me time. I almost didn't get good sleep because I wanted to get it all. Mostly, I skipped many hang out times with my buddies. Or sometimes, I said no if my parents asked me to had fun with them. Some of my friends said that I was too serious for everything, I need to be relax.

But, actually I was enjoy so much with my daily routine, even it pissed me off sometimes but I liked it. I realize that the more you are busy, the more you are thankful for the time you have. I become more discipline because I prefer to not to delay my responsibilities.

But, did I make a best decision? Maybe yes, maybe not, it depends on your perspective.

Let me tell you, I have a friend in my college. He rarely went to classes when I had same classes with him. He somehow was hard to contact, easy to disappear for sure. But, you know, that he is really active outside of campus. He is one of the initiator of the youth movement in Indonesia. He has high commitment to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 from United Nations. SDGs are global goals to make better world for all aspect of society. I can't be more amazed that he has done so much to contribute in our society. Yes, indeed, he is sacrifice his college life, but he has done something big.

I have another friend. He actually is smart. But, he sometimes is easy to give up. He somehow is late to sent assignments to lecture. If he doesn't get the point he would leave it away. But, his another side is he loves traveling. I can't count how many destinations he made. His feed on instagram is about nature. He had been in some mountains in Java. I bet that he have visited most of beautiful places in Java. He met many people from his journey. I am amazed his experiences somehow gives me another perspective about people.

Then, my another friend loves academic so much. She is smart for sure. She feels she doesn't proper for organization so she pursues her education, instead organization. People said the she is too ambitious for her academic, but I don't see her that way. I see that she is really passionate with knowledge. She has spirit to make world better with her knowledge in the future. I hope so that she will achieve her dream someday. She has good GPA. She is one of the fastest in my batch to graduate. How cool she is!

You can see, right? It's about perspective. I might say that I never regret my decision to sacrifice my me time, because at least I get something for it. So do my friends I talk about above. They sacrifice something, but get another something big.

At the end, you decide what you gonna be. You can calculate cost and benefit for the option of actions. You have to make sure that your sacrifice is worth it. It will enhance your ability, or even your career. It is justify whatever your decision is as long as you are responsible for your decision. It is your life, you have your own way to achieve success in your version. Good luck!
